C L I Q U E S

Usually a babble of huddled students that live in the art department, the Artisans are the quirky looking kids who tend to walk around in packs. They are the musicians, the painters and the glee members who fill the corridors with graffiti and sing songs of rebellion. They are friendliest with the nerds and the wallflowers.

If you want your fill of illegal substances, go to the hellions. They are the drug takers and law breakers of Elk Creek. They're the bribers of the security and the key to any breakout plot. They appear to be friendless but are the gateway to every person in the school. They put themselves in trouble to save others, but expect payment in return. They try and avoid the jocks at all costs and find a usefulness of the nerds. They live to torment the royals and if all else fails are the bane of the teachers and security.

Just your run-of-the-mill jocks. They are sporty, popular kids on the outside, but there is much more than meets the eyes. These escapologists are frequent runners and tend to be found wandering the moorland after dark. There are rumors that they are building underground tunnels but none have been found, despite the teachers combing every room. They hate the hellions, but love to torture the nerds.

The explosive experts of the school are the ones who spend months pouring over chemistry textbooks. If you need a lock to be picked or a secret passage through the castle the nerds are the people you want. They tend to avoid contact with the jocks, but are under protection from the hellions. Their closest friends are artisans and wallflowers.

The kings and queens of Elk Creek are in this clique. They are the kids of families who had too much money. Derailed from being spoilt and sent to the Creek with the commoners to straighten them out. They flirt and bribe their way through danger. They're the elite and always avoid conflict with the teachers and the security. They get on best with the jocks and have a guilty pleasure with the hellions. They usually have the nerds on their side - just because they can buy them the latest technology.

Just like it says on the tin. These men and women dedicate their lives to keeping the kids in (or everyone else out). They search through every truck and every person that comes up to the gate. But some of them have been at the Creek so long that they have become corrupted over time. Being away from civilisation has changed them and they are just as bad as the students. As long as the kids are all inside the gates the rest of the day is theirs to play with. Some of their games include tormenting the students and sneaking treats into the delivery vans.

Just as corrupted as the security they seem to avoid teaching as much as possible. The new teachers always come in wanting to change the system, wanting to make things better for the students - but they are soon brought to the brink of insanity by the nerds and the jocks. They spend most of their time with the hellions, and usually sneak out to smoke in the back with them. As long as they are getting paid the teachers are more than happy to beat a few students into place.

No one knows how these kids have managed to get into Elk Creek. Rumours from drug abuse to murder have been spread. They're the quietest secretest bunch and tend to avoid the other groups if they can. But every now and then they surprise everyone by coming up with the next big plan. But even the hellions get a little nervous when the wallflowers come out of their shells.
