kitty and vinny met outside the councillors office. they didn't say anything to each other at first. she thought he was weird and he was too intimidated by her. but each thursday they met outside the door and eventually she said hello. that was when vinny made his first 'friend'. they never really meet outside of the office - they take some of the same classes and sort of smile at each other but never engage in conversation
but outside the office they laugh and joke about their illnesses, she encourages vinny to talk about his cats and the gills on her neck - she is a mermaid after all.
but their friendship tends to drop when she's around her other friends and vinny wishes that he could tell people he's made one friend. but he doesn't so she doesn't lose her reputation.
maybe over time she grows to accept him a little more and starts to introduce him to her friends where things go downhill - imagine a drunk vinny!
